I was pretty pleased seeing the cute little heart on top of the latte I brewed for a customer earlier. That I couldn’t help taking a snap shot of it and boast about it here.
At the same time I can never understand the Generation Y’s fascination in regards to coffee brewing. They think that it’s very cool to be making coffee. Operating an espresso machine is just that, learning to froth milk, making sure the creama to ensure freshness amongst other. Perhaps they are fascinated by the technicality of it? Or the latte art that times to master.
Well, I couldn’t be bothered by all the glamour and fascinations about being a barista because at the end of the day it is just a job. To me there’s no job satisfaction out of brewing coffee. It’s just a drink and so many drink and forget about it.
I’m just interested in the business part of it, yes, an espresso machine is valuable and if one is to open a cafe, they need to properly consider buying the right type of machine in order to reduce time span, ensure cost effectiveness and user friendliness. At the end of the day, coffee beans play a major role as well.
My nephew is a barista in Melbourne, he even managed to get an employment permit for his work. At the end of the day, he is happy making coffee and enjoying a relaxing lifestyle in another country. Well I hope he continues to be happy, as for me today’s the last day for me to brewing coffee at the cafe and I will focus on my business next.
